Now you are on a roll! You have decided your priorities. You have decided your master list of things to do. Now is the time to make a list of your Top 5 Things to Do Today. This is much easier to focus on when you know what your priorities are and you have your big picture in mind of all that needs to be accomplished.
Take the time right now to write or type your Top 5 Things To Do Today. I recommend that you only choose 5 and that if you accomplish more by the end of your work period, great. And if you haven’t accomplished more than two or three of them, it’s important to look at your list and see how you could really focus on getting those last items completed. You may also realize that you have to make specific blocks of time on your calendar to be able to concentrate on getting things done.
For example, if you need to write a book or write a report, you need to be able to concentrate so that you can compose. That means no interruptions. Be sure to close your office door, turn off your e-mail notification noises, and silence your phones.
You will be amazed at how much you can accomplish when you are not distracted or interrupted!
